Writer’s position/stance

Is your question “What is stance in an essay?”. If so, stance is the expression of the writer’s agreement/disagreement with a paper’s arguments and counter arguments.
If you’ve been asked to indicate stance, you’ve been asked to provide arguments for and against a point and to inform the reader of which you agree with more. Stance is usually shown in an essay’s thesis statement, topic sentences, summary sentences and thesis restatement… I hope that helps!
